Discription:
On September 16, the United States General, Major General George B. McClellan attacked General Lee's forces at Sharpsburg, Maryland. The Union forces attacked the Confederate left flank, to begin the battle. The Confederate forces counterattcked. The battle continued until after dark, when Lee took his forces back across the Potomac.
